1934 - F E Woolley
Frank Woolley was the first holder of the Walter Lawrence Trophy. His 63 minute century innings at Dover in 1934 enabled Kent to score 194 in 100 minutes and snatch an unlikely victory against Northamptonshire.
1935 - H Gimblett
Harold Gimblett of Somerset played his famous innings against Essex at Frome and became the only player to win the trophy with his first innings in first class cricket. His century was made in just 63 minutes.
1936 - L E G Ames
Two times winner Les Ames, pictured here presenting the Walter Lawrence Trophy to Alan Knott in 1976, scored his first award winning century in 68 minutes for an England XI playing against India at Folkestone.
1937 - J Hardstaff
Joe Hardstaff jnr. scored his century while playing for Nottinghamshire against Kent at Canterbury in 1937. His century was scored in only 51 minutes. In 1938 Joe was the Wisden Cricketer of the Year.
1938 - H T Bartlett
Hugh Bartlett scored his century while playing for Sussex against Australia at Hove in 1938. His century was scored in only 57 minutes.
1939 - L E G Ames
Two times winner Les Ames, pictured here presenting the Walter Lawrence Trophy to Alan Knott in 1976, scored his second award winning century in 67 minutes for Kent playing against Surrey at The Oval.
1966 - K F Barrington
Ken Barrington was the first player to win the Walter Lawrence Trophy after it was re-introduced in 1966. Between 1966 and 1970 the Trophy was awarded for the fastest century in Test Cricket.
1967 - B L D’Oliveira
Basil D'Oliveira scored his Test Match century in 173 balls for England playing against India at Leeds.
1968 - T W Graveney
Tom Graveney scored his Test Match century in 174 balls for England playing against the West Indies at Port of Spain.
1969 - C Milburn
Colin Milburn, pictured here receiving the Trophy from Geoffrey Boycott, scored his Test Match century in 163 balls for England playing against Pakistan at Karachi.
1970 - G Boycott
Geoffrey Boycott scored his Test Match century in 222 balls for England playing against the Rest of the World at The Oval.
1971 - B F Davison
Brian Davison scored his award winning century in 63 minutes for Leicestershire playing against Northamptonshire at Leicester.
1972 - Majid Khan
Majid Khan pictured receiving the Walter Lawrence Trophy from Brian Thornton, then a director of Walter Lawrence plc. He scored his century in 70 minutes for Glamorgan playing against Warwickshire at Birmingham.
1973 - Asif Iqbal
Asif Iqbal scored his award winning century in 72 minutes for Kent playing against MCC at Canterbury.
1974 - G S Sobers
Sir Garfield Sobers scored his century in 83 minutes for Nottinghamshire playing against Derbyshire at Ilkeston.
1975 - R N S Hobbs
Robin Hobbs scored his century in 44 minutes playing for Essex against Australia at Chelmsford. He is pictured here receiving the Walter Lawrence Trophy from Percy Fender who holds the world record for the fastest century ever.
1976 - A P E Knott
Alan Knott scored his award winning century in 70 minutes for Kent playing against Sussex at Canterbury.
1977 - C M Old
Chris Old pictured receiving the Walter Lawrence Trophy from Brian Prichard, Chairman of Walter Lawrence plc. He scored his century in 37 minutes for Yorkshire playing against Warwickshire at Birmingham.
1978 - C G Greenidge
Gordon Greenidge scored his century in 82 minutes for Hampshire playing against Glamorgan at Southampton.
1979 - M J Procter
Mike Procter pictured receiving the Walter Lawrence Trophy from Colin Ingleby-McKenzie captain of Hampshire and President of MCC. He scored his century in 57 minutes for Gloucestershire playing against Northamptonshire at Bristol.
1980 - I V A Richards
Two times winner Viv Richards scored his first award winning century in 66 minutes for the West Indies playing against Glamorgan at Swansea. He won the Trophy for a second time in 1986.
1981 - S T Clarke
Sylvester Clarke scored his century in 62 minutes for Surrey playing against Glamorgan at Swansea.
1982 - I T Botham
Two times winner Ian Botham scored his first award winning century in 52 minutes for Somerset playing against Warwickshire at Taunton. He won the Trophy for a second time in 1985.
1983 - S J O’Shaughnessy
Steven O'Shaughnessy scored his century in an amazing 35 minutes for Lancashire playing against Leicestershire at Manchester.
1984 - M W Gatting
Mike Gatting scored his century in 79 minutes for Middlesex playing against Kent at Lord's.
1985 - I T Botham
Two times winner Ian Botham scored his second award winning century in 50 balls again playing for Somerset against Warwickshire this time at Birmingham. He won the Trophy for the first time in 1982.
1986 - I V A Richards
Two times winner Viv Richards scored his second award winning century in 48 balls for Somerset playing against Glamorgan at Taunton. He won the Trophy for the first time in 1980 again playing against a hapless Glamorgan.
1987 - R O Butcher
Roland Butcher scored his century in 73 balls (96 minutes) for Middlesex playing against Sussex at Hove.
1988 - G A Hick
Graeme Hick scored his century in 79 balls (91 minutes) for Worcestershire playing against Surrey at The Oval.
1989 - D J Bicknell
Darren Bicknell scored his century in 69 balls for Surrey playing against Essex at The Oval.
1990 - T M Moody
Tom Moody scored his century in 36 balls (26 minutes) for Warwickshire playing against Glamorgan at Swansea.
1991 - I D Austin
Ian Austin scored his century in 61 balls for Lancashire playing against Yorkshire at Scarborough.
1992 - M P Speight
Martin Speight scored his award winning century off 62 balls for Sussex playing against Lancashire at Hove.
1993 - M P Maynard
Matthew Maynard scored his century in 73 balls for Glamorgan playing against Australia at Neath.

Paul Johnson scored his century in 73 balls while Captaining Nottinghamshire against Glamorgan at Swansea.
1994 - K R Rutherford
Ken Rutherford scored his century in 71 balls while Captaining New Zealand against Glamorgan at Swansea.
1995 - C L Cairns
Chris Cairns scored his century in 65 balls for Nottinghamshire playing against Cambridge University at Fenners.
1996 - G D Lloyd
Two times winner Graham Lloyd scored his first winning century in 70 balls for Lancashire playing against Essex at Chelmsford. He went on to win the Walter Lawrence Trophy for a second time in 1997, becoming the only player ever to have retained the award.
1997 - G D Lloyd
Two times winner Graham Lloyd scored his second award winning century in 73 balls for Lancashire playing against Leicestershire at Grace Road. Having won the Trophy the previous year, he became the only player ever to have retained the Walter Lawrence Trophy.
1998 - A D Brown
Ally Brown scored his century in 72 balls for Surrey playing against Northamptonshire at the Oval. Carl Hooper scored a century off the same number of balls in 1998 and the award was therefore shared.
1998 - C L Hooper
Carl Hooper scored his century in 72 balls for Kent playing against Worcestershire at Canterbury. Ally Brown scored a century off the same number of balls in 1998 and the award was therefore shared.
1999 - A Flintoff
Andy Flintoff scored his century in 61 balls before lunch playing for Lancashire against Gloucestershire at Bristol. Flintoff, who borrowed Alec Stewarts bat (his own had been stolen) hit 5 sixes and 15 fours in reaching his century.
2000 - D S Lehmann
Darren Lehmann scored his century playing for Yorkshire against Kent at the St Lawrence Ground in Canterbury. His century came off 89 balls, in 128 minutes hitting 14 fours. This was the slowest ever winning century.
2001 - I J Harvey
Ian Harvey scored his award winning century for Gloucestershire playing against Derbyshire at Bristol. His century came off 61 balls, and included 6 sixes and 12 fours.
2002 - M V Fleming
Matt Fleming scored his award winning century for Kent against the touring Sri Lankans at Canterbury. His 66 ball century was not under serious threat until the final round of County Championship matches when Neil Carter raced to his maiden hundred off 67 balls for Warwickshire against Sussex.
2003 - D R Martyn
Damien Martyn scored his award winning century for Yorkshire against Gloucestershire at Headingley. This photograph was taken during his 65 ball century which was scored on the third and last day of the 2003 season.
2004 - R Johnson
Richard Johnson's Trophy-winning century was scored for Somerset against Durham at Riverside, Chester-le-Street, on the 16th of August.
2005 - I D Blackwell
Ian Blackwell's Trophy-winning century was scored for Somerset against Derbyshire at Taunton, on the 24th of September.
2006 - M A Ealham
Mark Ealham's Trophy-winning century was scored for Nottinghamshire against MCC at Lord's, on the 16th of April. His whirlwind hundred, scored off just 45 balls, included 11 fours and 7 sixes.
2007 - M J North
Marcus North's Trophy-winning century was scored for Gloucestershire against Leicestershire at Bristol, on the 5th of May. The left-handed Western Australia batsman hit a 73-ball ton - which included 13 fours and a six, eventually departing for 106 in the second innings of the drawn match.
